The New Etsy Store!

Hello! I've been busy lately and I've made some changes! I opened a new vintage clothing store on Etsy, here. I'm really excited about it and I really like the layout. Shown above are some of my favorite things in the store. And remember to follow Gold Moon Vintage on Facebook for the latest store arrivals. Also, for you international shoppers, the Ebay store is still running and will be updated within the next few days.

Also, today is the very last day of NaBloPoMo! WHEW! I made it somehow and you did it with me! Your presence is always encouraging and I want to say thanks for reading! I really do feel honored that so many of you are stopping by to see what's new.

Have a fantastic weekend!

There's #000000 and then there's #000000 Friday

Both images via here
Hello! It's #000000 Friday around these parts or Black Friday (#000000 is black in hex color)!
I hope you bought all of your goodies at incredible values!

I was just looking around the 'nets and saw these images. I'm digging the black layered dress on the left and the large knit hat on the right as well.
Well now I'm off to eat more pumpkin pie and leftovers!

Goodnight

Moon Glow Artwork

Artwork by Brenda Erickson
via here

This artwork by Brenda Erickson is captivating. As a solution to my question of what to post about today, I came up with something different.

Here is nighttime tale:

One day I was coming back home from a holiday gathering during a dark night much like this night. There was an extra layer of mist and fog everywhere (I call it death fog). It was unlike anything I had ever seen. I could barely see a foot in front of my car but somehow I had reached the halfway point to coming home and it was too foggy to turn back. When I came upon my city, all of the lights were out including the lights at the intersections. People were wrecking into others and when I finally arrived home, people were shouting in the streets to hear their own echos. I could only make out bits of shadows as others used the veil of fog to creep eerily down the normally sleepy neighborhood streets, being as quiet as possible. The inside of the house was pitch black, my phone was running out of power...

I locked the door and waited, and waited. The lights eventually returned but I could never watch Stephen King's The Mist again.

Why "Home For The Holidays" Makes Everything Okay

That is not her coat

My all time favorite Thanksgiving Day movie is Jodie Foster's 1995 film, Home For The Holidays, starring Holly Hunter, Robert Downy Jr., Claire Danes, and Dylan McDermott among others you may recognize. It's quite a gem of a film reminding us through comedy of how horrible some (most?) of us have it at this holiday and why we instantly regret that long drive to our childhood homes.

If you are looking for a laugh and a reminder that you are not in it alone I recommend giving it a go.

Josie

I saw this on SNL and now I can't get the song Your Love by The Outfield out of my head.
And how about all of those 80s threads?!

(When SNL aired on tv, the blues in the vintage clothes were closer to teal. These things are important)

Enjoy!

UPDATE: Overnight this video was removed and I can not find this SNL skit anywhere so here is the actual Your Love by the Outfield. Sorry for any inconvenience.
